Anna is an original character that I wanted to take through the full 3D character creation pipeline, from concept design to final animation. When designing her I took inspiration from the Legend of Zelda Series, Dragon Quest, and the Ancient Magus Bride series. My goal was to create a rpg protagonist that fought evil monsters using mage craft and who also had the power to summon the blue flame fairies of Celtic mythology, known as Will-O' The Wisps. 
I painted her concept in Photoshop, 3D modeled her character model in Maya and her torch in Zbrush. I hand-painted her textures in Substance Painter. After rigging and animating her in Maya I exported her model to Marmoset Toolbag 3 for lighting and rendering. 
She is currently my most detailed rigging project and I am hoping to animate her more in future projects; especially since I have big plans for her and other characters she may one day meet on her travels.
For now, though I present the forest child Anna and her little fairy friend, the Will-O'-The Wisp
